Kia India has unveiled the much-anticipated Carens for the Indian market, with a starting price of Rs 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Kia Carens is the South Korean automaker’s fourth model in India, following the launches of the Seltos, Carnival, and Sonet. Kia Carens is available in a variety of trim levels, with prices ranging from Rs 8.99 lakh to Rs 16.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

Carens is a disguised MPV with SUV-style elements such as a hefty front bumper, flat bonnet, dual-beam LED projector headlights with integrated Y-shaped LED DRLs and chrome highlights, sporty dual-tone alloy wheels, roof rails, and thick body cladding.
Kia Carens will have a BOSE sound system with 8 speakers, a smart pure air purifier with virus and bacteria prevention, ventilated front seats, a SkyLight sunroof, Over the Air (OTA) system upgrades, a smartphone wireless charger with Cooling function, and many other features. Kia Carens will also come standard with the Robust 10 Hi-Safety Package, which includes 6 airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, ESC, ABS, and other features.
The Kia Carens is powered by the same engine option as powers the Kia Seltos: a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine providing 140 PS and 242 Nm of torque, and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine producing 115 PS and 250 Nm of torque. The petrol engine is paired with a 6-speed manual or DCT automatic transmission, while the diesel engine is paired with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter. Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Mahindra XUV700 are competitors for the Kia Carens.
